Wood-becomes-paper (recycling box series)
The paper recycling boxes are designed to appear as heavy blocks of wood. They are an alternative to plastic waste-paper baskets with an aesthetic appeal. The boxes represent a twist on a very basic product. A wood print being the essence of paper and in turn is recycled.

Cupts (cut cups)
Cupts are tableware designed for food, made entirely from ceramic cups. We used iconic Finnish design modified for a new experience. Production for Cupts consists of using the idea behind the design prototypes to create a new production run. This means experiencing food in small portions with tableware that is somewhat familiar, but presented as a completely new product.

Lack Lamps:
A lamp design based on upgrading a familiar and extremely popular product from Ikea. We based the design method on continuing a successful product line and reusing existing tooling. The design dealt with making subtle changes to the existing characteristics of the Ikea Lack series. An internal paper core was replaced with transluscent plastic and a light source placed inside. First place Ikea lamp competition 2004.

Hide and Seek:
A winning design proposal for the Young Designers and Industry congress 2001, The Netherlands. The proposal dealt with relieving large nature areas from car congestion. We proposed a system of communication methods to increase the use of smaller nature areas, thereby decreasing traffic to the larger one’s. The communication methods ranged from a nature finding application on the web, to subtle physical changes on the roads to mark entrances.

Clients: Staatsbosbeheer (national  tourism) and ANWB (national roads and recreation).
